Description: Slender plant to 1.5 m in clump. Base c. 1.5 cm, reddish. Ligule to 6 cm, entire, membranous, pale brown, short-lasting. Leaves strap-like to 40 x 2 cm, leathery, dark green, margin ± inrolled. Inflorescence from the ground, peduncle subterranean, spike subglobular with 24 flower, 2 open at a time. Bracts pinkish red, thin. Outermost spreading. Bracteole 1.9 cm, 2-toothed, fissures of 5--6 mm, membranous, pale pink. Calyx pale pink with darker apeces. Corolla 2.7 cm, 3-toothed with one longer fissure c. 1 cm, pale pink, lobes with darker apeces. Tube between dorsal and labellum 9 mm, lateral inserted 4 mm, distally below. Dorsal lobe at 90 angle to tube. Labellum c. 17 x 17 mm, unilobed, round, falttened (like _E. brevilabrum_), pale yellow with faint pink centre on the inside (hidden by the stamen), dark pink on outside. Filament 2 mm. Anther, slightly angled, only slightly emarginate, shiny redddish pink also below, dehisce in upper 2/3, flaps densely hirsute, filament faintly pink, hairy, stigma densely sericous except at apex, pale yellow.
