Habitat: In sparse, low, exposed grass in grassland-savanna
Description: Herb, rare. Stem woody at base, square, roughly hairy. Leaves hairy, folded slightly inward along the midrib. Flower buds bulbous, flowers purple with a white cup-like lip (with green-yellow markings), a darker purple interior with dark purple spots; hairy corolla mouth; 5-lobed calyx, 4 stamens. Fruits 2-lobed, dehiscing down the seam into two halves.
