Description: Herb.Stem green and soft inside, almost woody outside, dark green and golden in the harder areas of stem. Petioles thick and green. Leaves waxy on the upperside and paler on the underside,young leaves with abundant red hairs on the under side.
Miscellaneous notes: Growing on a slope on sandstone rock, under shade of tall trees close to the river bank. Most abundant trees in the area were Ceiba, Brosimum alicastrum, Corynostylis arborea, Trichillia minutiflora, Spondias mombin, Schilozobium parahiba and strangular figs. Growing with other herbs and ferns.
