Collecting locality: Belize:Cayo:Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve; approximately 550m North of the Blancaneau Line.
Latitude: 17°58'4''N, Longitude: 88°58'4''W
Habitat: Sub-montane pine savanna on granite. Bare ground composed almost entirely of coarse sandy quartz, on a gentle North-facing slope with evidence of previous fire. Surrounding vegetation with an open canopy and dense herbaceous layer. Associated species included: Pinus caribaea, Quercus spp, Byrsonima crassifolia, Davilla, Acoelorraphe wrightii and Miconia spp.
Description: Herb, growing to 1m in height, occasionally branching. Yellow stamens. Inflorescence opens as seeds mature. Found on arid areas of coarse quartz sand.
