Small shrub to 10 cm. Leaves with pinkish dots above, light green below. Peduncle red, slightly hairy. Calyx persistent in the fruit. Calyx greenish red, red at margin. Fruit 2 mm. In the Rhododendron lepidotum, R. anthopogon and Juniperus recurva dominant shrubland.
