Ss cy Pa i cy 7) o r= ao D = > Qa fe) Oo Solla. Crocus Weldeni unterscheidet sich von C. biflorus durch einige constante Merkmale. Die Perigonblatter sind niemals gestreift, sondern in der Regel reinweiss, oder die fusseren sind gleichmiassig violett tiber- laufen; ferner sind sie in der Regel breit, spitz und mehr oder weniger rhombisch geformt. Der Schaft ist constant einbliitig, die Spatha reinweiss und sehr diinnhautig. Die Entwicklung der Laubblatter erfolgt verhiiltnis- missig spit. Zur Bliitezeit erreichen dieselben kaum noch den Schlund der Bliite, wihrend bei C. biflorus die Blatter zur Bliitezeit weit tiber die Bliite hinausragen. Die Constitution der ganzen Pflanze ist viel zarter und zierlicher, der Knollen anscheinend von mehr Hiillen umgeben. Der Name C. Weldeni stammt eigentlich von Gay, welcher Exsiceaten mit diesem Namen verschickte. In die Literatur wurde er jedoch erst durch Hoppe (a. a. O.) eingefiihrt. Die meisten Botaniker, welche sich mit der Pflanze beschiftigten, anerkannten ihre Verschiedenheit von C. biflorus Mill., betrachten s‘e jedoch als eine Varietit derselben. Wir haben es hier aber mit einer Form zu thun, deren Eigenthiimlichkeiten fixirt sind und die in einem gewissen Gebiete den C. biflorus vertritt, Sie ist bis jetzt nur aus Istrien und Dalmatien bekannt geworden, indvs der echte C. biflorus dort nicht vorkommt.
