At interface between dense forest and savannah. Forest dominated by Palm (Roystonea regia), with emergent Terminalia amazonia; savannah dominated by Pine (Pinus caribaea) and Palm (Acoelorraphe wrightii) with Costus and Renealmia. Dense pine savanna woodland. Frequent Pinus caribaea to 20 m, 10% canopy. Abundant Byrsonima crassifolia 3-8 m, Erythroxylum guatamalense 2 m, Clidemia strigillosa, frequent Acoelorraphe wrightii, Davilla kunthii, Calliandra houstoniana, Scleria bracteata, Palicourea triphylla and abundant Cassytha filiformis. Dense pine savanna woodland. Canopy dominated by Pinus caribaea 14 m tall, 10-15 cm DBH, 5% canopy; shrub layer 20% cover of abundant Acoelorraphe wrightii 2-3 m, Byrsonima crassifolia 1-3 m, frequent Curatella americana 2- 3 m, Calliandra houstoniana | m, Gliricidia sepium 2 m and occasional Davilla kunthii 2 m. Herb layer 30% grass dominated with abundant Curculigo scorzonerifolia. Site burnt recently (c. 1.5 months), lots of additional human disturbance & no pine regeneration visible. Oak thicket (in middle of open savanna grassland). Dominated by Quercus oleoides 8 m with occasional Pinus caribaea 12 m (30%). Shrub layer (50%) with abundant Byrsonima crassifolia 0-2 m, frequent Curatella americana 2 m & occasional Schippia concolor 1-3 m.
