Altitude: ~150m Valley floor near river (within 100 m); thick leaf litter & dark Soil; granite bedrock. j Tree 17 m, 23 cm dbh; rough yellow slash oxidises to yellow- orange rapidly, covered in Doliocarpus multiflorus & Philodendron sp. Open savanna grassland with abundant Acoelorraphe wrightii, frequent Byrsonima crassifolia, Curatella americana and rare Crescentia cujete, punctuated by Eleocharis marshes and forest thickets. Partially burnt previous dry season, evidence of human disturbance including numerous tracks (some old, others well used) and some rubbish dumping. Cecropia glabra. Understory of Polybotrys caudata, Selaginella, Araceae, many young Attalea cohune & Psychotria poeppigiana; with Sloanea sp and Alchomea latifolia shrubs.
