Collecting locality: Belize:Toledo:Deep River Forest Reserve North; ~1 km west of Southern Highway along BFREE access road, ~100 m south of access road.

Habitat: Open woody savanna. Rare Pinus caribaea 10 m (<5%); shrub layer (<10%) of frequent Byrsonima crassifolia 1-4 m, Clidemia strigillosa 1 m, occasional Curatella americana 1-3 m & Miconia albicans 1 m. Herb layer dominated by sedges, 90%, 50 cm deep. Not burnt for 2 years.
Description: Abundant herb 1 m; tufted habit; no ligule; leaf blades keeled; culm hollow.
