Habitat: Shallow leaf litter, heavy brown soil over limestone bedrock, >36 yrs since farming.; Vegetation: Tropical evergreen, lowland, broadleaf forest: Yucatan variant (Cohune ridge). Canopy 20m, growing in association with Sabal mauritiiformis, Coccoloba sp and lots of Piperaceae shrubs.
Description: 9.7m tall tree with 2 trunks, 7.4 & 5.7cm dbh. Slash pale yellow turns red.
