Habitat: Limestone gully still with snow, sides of gully muddy banks with lime stone chips. East facing and west facing aspects. Gully south facing. Alpine meadows south facing either side of gully; Vegetation: Eremurus, Cotoneaster, Acer, Ferrula.
Description: Tree to 2.5 meters. Leaves palmate, with a hint of red at tips. Heavy veining on the back side of leaf. Petiole red. Old wood brown.
