Habitat: Garrigue vegetation on gentle karst limestome slopes with Convolvulus oleifolius, Euphorbia melitensis, Anthyllis hermanniae, Thymus capitata, Carlina involucrata, Urginea pancration, Scabiosa maritima, Senecio bicolor, Allium commutatum, Atractylis gummifera, Teucrium flavum and Anacamptis pyramidalis.
Description: Prostrate herb to 30 cm across. Very variable in habit, sometime completely flat to the ground and sometimes ascending.
Miscellaneous notes: Also nearby are large numbers of another species thought to belong to a complex which includes D. gingidium. The exact status of this and its relationship to D. rupestris is not clearly understood.
