Habitat: Rhododendron forest, in the snow
Description: A small tree than the last in full blossom amid the snow. Flowers very copious, but of a virulent blue-magenta, like Rh. fastinesum fl pl. though. like this some of its tones are less displeasing than others.
Miscellaneous notes: No. F1549, 1551, 1552 make up the spring blooming Rhododendron forest at 10500, & F1552 is part abundant & copious just now among the snow at 10800 (also in miles of colour in the open on the Mak[illegible) pass. June)
