Pistacia Lentiscus /. Phytogeogr. value: A plant of the omni-Mediterra- nean element. The most important Mediterranean shrub of Palestine after Quercus calliprinos. A leading plant of the Ceratonia Siliqua — Pistacia Lentiscus-association. It is worth mentioning here, that in the well developed Quercetum calliprini (typicum) Pistacia Lentiscus is completely lacking. It is the first shrub pioneer on the grey dunes. Its ecological requirements in Palestine are eu-Mediterranean. — In Cisjordania common both in the maritime hills and in the mountains.
