Ex Horto bot. Taurinensi, leg. G. Gola, misit O. Mattirolo. Oss. — La localita dalla quale provengono gli esemplari qui di- stribuiti 6 la prima che si sia osservata finora in Piemonte; ivi questa specie é da considerarsi probabilmente come avventizia, data la sua esistenza in una area ristrettissima nella quale é comparsa di recente ed ove attualmente si va facendo assai scarsa. Lemna hyalina Del. (1813). — L. globosa Roxb. (1832). — Wolffia Micheli Schleid. (1844). — W. Schleideni Mig. (1859). W. Delilet Kurz (1867). — Grantia globosa Griff. (1851), — Brunviera vivipara Franch. (1864). Loc. Istria. — Parentium (Parenzo) in stagno majore secus viam Orserae (Orsero), alt. 3m. — Jun. 1908. Oss, — ‘Questa pianta, che ci rappresenta la pit piccola fanero- gama conosciuta, ha una vastissima zona di diffusione, trovandosi in quasi tutta l’Huropa, in Inghilterra, Olanda, Belgio, Francia, Germania, Spagna, ecc., ed estendendosi fino in Africa, nelle In- die orientali, a Giava, alle Filippine ed in Australia. Dell’ Italia viene indicata in Lombardia, nel Modenese, in Liguria, in Toscana, nel Lazio, nel Napoletano, nei dintorni di Catania ed in Corsica. In Istria era finora conosciuta unicamente del Lago dei Campi presso Veglia, ove cresce in unione alla Callitriche truncata, e di Besca. Due anni fa mi riesci di trovarla in un paio di stagni presso Orsera, donde si esteso pure a parecchi altri del distretto di Parenzo. Causa la sua picciolezza pud facilmente venir sor- passata. La sua grandissima diffusione si spiega col facile trasporto specialmente a mezzo di uccelli acquatici. Anche a mezzo di cor- renti aeree pud venire trascinata a grandi distanze, come lo dimo- stra il fatto che fu trovata persino in un chicco di gragnuola (D. B. M. XXI, 76).
