The ecological requirements of S. divaricatus in Palestine, do not reveal its wide distribution in the Mediter. region. In the Mediter. territories of Palestine we found it only once, but even there not far from the Saharo-Sindian Negueb. All the other stations of this plant, known from Palestine, are situated in the lrano-Turanian and in the less desert part of the Saharo-Sindian territories. A. Eig.
