Habitat: Very common on S Side only of Pass, in clumps 62 across, covering large areas of open hillside, preferring immediately below cliffs & down avalanche slopes.
Description: Corolla golden yellow, rich deep golden yellow in the eye. Tube rather paler yellow. No farina notceable. Calyx & lobes green, lobes margined red in older plants. Pedicels green. Leaves darl green above, pale below where veins are very prominent. In small plants before flowering the winter bud leaves are tinged red as are the leaves.
