Description: Whole plant covered with long thin spreading hairs. Habit: growing in tufts; stem none; leaves all radical or crowded, petioles as long as the peduncles (about 2 inches) dilating into a broad ? thick sheath but not stipulate. First leaves about 1 inch in length & breadth, rotund, cordate, subentire or slightly lobed; upper broad, rotund, deeply cordate, the sinus completely covered by the ears, margin distinctly 5--7 lobed, acute and two or three minute sharp teeth upon each lobe, upper surface covered with erect delicate hairs , under quite glabrous. Flowers pale rose pink with a strong foetid smell exactly like that of Geranium robertianum, about 1/2in in diameter. Peduncles terminated by 2--4 flowers. Bracts linear, acute, 1/2 in long; pedicels a little longer than the bracts arising unevenly & bent firmly to cause flowers to be half pendulous. Calyx tubular half the length of corolla tube, 1/3 cut into 5 deltoid teeth , hairs short shining; venation reticulate, on passing into fruit, calyx accrescent, sepals becoming twice as large as before and spreading, midrib prominent. Corolla tube inflated in the middle, hairy as also undersurface of spreading limb; limb cleft 2/3 to mouth into 5 obovate deeply emarginate petals, sinus very acute; throat not constricted, yellow, hairy; stamens inserted in short styled form in inflated portion, bent so as to occlude? the tube. Style straight, elongating very much as the stamens pass maturity, stigma globular. Note the stigma has not been seen elongated to more than this length. Capsule globular, fruit perfectly flat on the summit.
